Jeddah: The Mecca agreement between Trkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan is a "long-term" defense partnership that will boost cooperation, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said Tuesday. The deal aims to enhance efforts to address regional challenges and maintain security and stability, as stated by King Salman during a Cabinet meeting in Jeddah.

According to Anadolu Agency, the trilateral summit which resulted in the agreement emphasized the historical ties among the three nations and showcased their shared commitment to strengthening bonds of brotherhood while pursuing common strategic interests. The countries signed the defense agreement last Friday at a summit in Mecca, with a focus on strengthening collective security, deepening defense cooperation, and promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond.
