Riyadh:Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense announced that the danger in the capital had passed, just minutes after issuing an emergency warning without detailing the nature of the threat.
According to Anadolu Agency, the warning from the National Early Warning Platform was initially issued to alert residents of a potential danger in Riyadh City. Residents were instructed to find the nearest safe place and stay indoors until the threat was over.
Shortly thereafter, the Civil Defense released an all-clear, advising residents to continue adhering to its guidance while avoiding gatherings and filming.
The warning in Riyadh followed a similar situation in the Eastern Province, where an alert was issued and then lifted within an hour. The nature of the threat in both instances was not disclosed.
Earlier on Tuesday, Yemen's Houthi group had threatened to target several key sites in Saudi Arabia, including the headquarters of the state oil company Aramco in Dammam, Riyadh's main airport, and Aramco's refinery in Riyadh, should the Saudi-led coalition attack its locations in Sanaa.
