Saudi Crown Prince Reiterates Support for Bahrain Following Iranian Attacks

Saudi arabia: Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman condemned recent Iranian attacks on Bahrain and affirmed Saudi Arabia's unwavering support for the Gulf kingdom. The crown prince communicated this stance during a phone call with Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that Prince Mohammed expressed Saudi Arabia's condemnation of the attacks on Bahraini territory. He pledged the kingdom's full solidarity with Bahrain and support for any measures it might take to ensure its security and stability.

The context of these developments includes recent hostilities between the US and Iran. Earlier this week, the US military conducted strikes near the Strait of Hormuz, prompting retaliation from Tehran with missile attacks. Additionally, drones targeted Kuwait International Airport, resulting in one fatality.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps denied targeting the airport, attributing the damage to a malfunctioning US-made Patriot missile system. However, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) contested this claim, stating Iranian drones were responsible. Iran also claimed responsibility for attacks on US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain, citing alleged US strikes on Qeshm Island in the strategically sensitive strait.
