Riyadh:The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen announced the interception and destruction of a "hostile" drone over the Riyadh region of Saudi Arabia on Saturday. The coalition confirmed that the incident resulted in no casualties.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki stated that debris from the intercepted drone fell to the ground without causing any harm. Authorities are reportedly inspecting the site to assess the situation further.

Al-Maliki also noted that on the previous day, two additional drones had been intercepted in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province and southern region. These incidents occur amidst ongoing hostilities between the Houthis and the Saudi-led coalition, with recent attacks targeting Saudi airports and energy facilities.

Saudi Arabia has been leading a military coalition in support of Yemen's government against the Houthis since 2015. The Houthis have maintained control over Yemen's capital, Sanaa, and other regions since 2014.
