Sirens Sound in Northern Israel Following Missile Launch by Iran

Northern israel: Sirens sounded early Friday in northern Israel after Iran launched a missile attack, local media reported. Israel's Channel 12 reported that several missiles landed in open areas while others were neutralized by air defense systems. Explosions were heard in some towns, it noted.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army stated on Telegram, "Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat." Authorities have urged the public to act responsibly, follow instructions, and remain in protected spaces upon receiving an alert.

Regional tensions have heightened since Israel and the US launched a joint attack on Iran on February 28, resulting in 1,300 fatalities and over 10,000 injuries, as reported by Iranian authorities. In retaliation, Iran has conducted drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries housing US military assets.
