Beirut: More than 700 people have been killed in Israeli attacks across Lebanon since March 2, according to the country's Health Ministry on Friday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Lebanon's National News Agency NNA stated that the Health Ministry reported a total of 773 fatalities between March 2 and March 13, with 1,933 people injured in the conflict. This surge in violence comes in the wake of Hezbollah's retaliation against Israeli military sites, initiated on March 2. The escalation followed persistent Israeli attacks on Lebanon, despite a ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024 and the assassination of Iran's then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran.

On the same day Hezbollah began its counterattacks, Israel intensified its military operations by launching airstrikes on Beirut's southern suburbs and various regions in southern and eastern Lebanon. These actions were part of a broader strategy that saw Israel, in collaboration with the United States, initiate a limited ground incursion into southern Lebanon on March 3. This joint campaign against Iran, which began on February 28, has further complicated the situation in the region.
