Gaza: At least 15 people, including four children, died of malnutrition and starvation in the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours, Gaza's Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry reported in a statement that hospitals in Gaza have recorded 15 deaths from starvation and malnutrition in the past 24 hours. These latest fatalities increase the total number of deaths from malnutrition to 101, with 80 of those being children, since October 2023.

Earlier reports from medical sources indicated that a diabetic patient, a child, and an infant also succumbed to severe nutritional deficiencies. Palestinian officials and rights groups have raised alarms over the growing number of deaths due to hunger, especially among vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses.

Gaza is currently facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis with famine spreading across the region due to an ongoing military campaign by Israel since October 7, 2023. Since March 2, Israel has closed all border crossings, halting the entry of vital food and medical supplies, leading to widespread malnutrition among children and chronically ill patients.

The report also highlights that Israel's military actions since October 2023 have resulted in the deaths of more than 59,000 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children. The offensive has severely damaged the enclave's infrastructure, collapsed the health system, and caused a severe shortage of food.

In a significant international development, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
