Istanbul: The International Strategic Communication Summit (Stratcom Summit) 2026 is set to commence on Friday in Istanbul, bringing together senior officials from 38 countries to engage in discussions concerning the ongoing war in the Middle East and critical questions impacting the international system.
According to Anadolu Agency, the summit is organized by Trkiye's Directorate of Communications and will span two days, from March 27-28. It will feature participation from notable figures such as Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and National Intelligence Organization President Ibrahim Kalin. Additionally, eleven ministers from ten different countries will join over 60 top officials at the summit.
Under the central theme of 'Disruption in the International System: Crises, Narratives, and the Search for Order,' the event aims to delve into the structural disruptions within the global framework, the crises these disruptions engender, and the varied regional strategies for restoring international stability.
Director of Communications Burhanettin Duran highlighted on social media that the summit represents a significant step toward fostering international cooperation and leveraging strategic communication to engage collective wisdom. He emphasized that the event is more than just a meeting, describing it as a strong declaration of intent to address global issues.
Duran further stressed the importance of communication as a vital tool in crisis management and the development of lasting solutions. He indicated that the summit, organized in alignment with the vision of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, seeks to cultivate a common language for global issues, bolster dialogue channels, and contribute to the establishment of a more equitable international system. He expressed confidence that the summit's initiatives would enhance peace and stability worldwide.
The summit will not only focus on examining structural changes within the international system amidst escalating geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainties, and complex crises, but also on the intensifying competition in global narratives.
