Ankara: Sudan's Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that it recorded 1,210 new cholera infections, including 36 deaths, within a week.

According to Anadolu Agency, the new cases have brought the total number of cholera cases to 102,831, including 2,561 deaths, since the outbreak began in August 2024. The ministry noted that infections have decreased in some states and increased in others, although specific locations were not disclosed.

The World Health Organization confirmed on August 6 that cholera cases have been detected in all 18 Sudanese states. This health crisis is occurring amid a civil war that has been ongoing since April 2023 between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths and millions of displacements across the country.
