Swedish Ministers to Visit Trkiye for Security Compact Meeting


Ankara: Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard and Justice Minister Gunnar Strommer are set to visit Trkiye next week for discussions focused on bilateral security dialogue, as announced by the Swedish government.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministers will arrive in Ankara on January 21 to engage in conversations about enhancing security cooperation and addressing international concerns. Stenergard emphasized the importance of fortifying collaboration between Sweden and Trkiye on security matters. Strommer expressed his anticipation for discussions with Turkish officials, highlighting the shared commitment to combating terrorism and organized crime.

The Swedish government statement outlined that these talks are part of an annual meeting schedule established during a NATO summit in Vilnius. The agenda will include topics such as the fight against terrorism, transnational organized crime, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, and the situations in Syria and the Gaza Strip, among other foreign policy
issues.
