Aleppo: A member of the Syrian Internal Security Forces was injured on Saturday by fire from a drone launched by the terrorist group YPG/SDF targeting the northern city of Aleppo.

According to Anadolu Agency, state-run Alikhbaria TV reported that the attack originated from the Deir Hafir area. The report confirmed that the Syrian Army is actively responding to drones launched by the terror group from this area, which are targeting neighborhoods within Aleppo.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) noted that the Interior Ministry has deployed military patrols inside Aleppo's Ashrafieh neighborhood to maintain security and reinforce stability. Drones sent by the YPG/SDF are reportedly hindering the entry of a humanitarian aid convoy into the neighborhood, amid concerns that they could target gatherings of civilians.

The Syrian Army announced the completion of a full security sweep of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo amid escalating tensions with the YPG/SDF. Since Tuesday, the SDF has shelled residential neighborhoods, civilian facilities, and Syrian Army positions in the city.

The ongoing attacks have resulted in the deaths of nine people, injuries to 55 others, and the displacement of approximately 165,000 residents from the Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods.

On March 10, 2025, the Syrian presidency announced an agreement for the integration of the SDF into state institutions, reaffirming the country's territorial unity. However, authorities have stated that the YPG/SDF has not shown any efforts to comply with the terms of the agreement, despite intensified government efforts to maintain security following the ouster of the Assad regime in December 2024.
