Tanker Struck by Unknown Projectile in Strait of Hormuz: UK Maritime Agency

Strait of hormuz: A tanker was struck by an unknown projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz north of Oman's Khasab, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said Sunday. The agency received a delayed report on Saturday regarding the incident, which occurred 12 nautical miles (22 kilometers) north of Khasab.

According to Anadolu Agency, UKMTO issued a warning notice, citing military authorities as its source, stating that the tanker was hit by an unidentified projectile during its inbound transit through the Strait. The incident did not result in any casualties or environmental impact, as reported by the agency.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident. In light of this event, vessels have been advised to exercise caution while transiting the area. Additionally, any suspicious activity should be promptly reported to UKMTO.
