Trkiye: Trkiye on Tuesday expressed 'serious concern' over attacks targeting civilian vessels in the Black Sea, the country's Foreign Ministry said, after the Turkish-owned civilian vessels Yasar and Nadezhda were attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles upon leaving the Port of Novorossiysk on Monday evening. A number of crew members, including Turkish citizens, were injured in the attacks.
According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry released a statement highlighting the growing threat to civilian maritime activities amid the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The statement emphasized the importance of taking immediate action to prevent further escalation, urging all parties involved to "implement concrete measures" to ensure the safety of navigation in the region.
The ministry warned of the potential multidimensional adverse consequences of continued attacks, particularly concerning food security, if preventive measures are not enacted.
