Ankara: Trkiye continues to maintain diplomatic contacts to help bring an end to the war between the US, Israel, and Iran, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Saturday. Speaking after an informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council of the Organization of Turkic States, Fidan emphasized that Israel's strategy of causing instability, conflicts, and civil wars in the region is widely known. He noted that Trkiye, alongside its friendly and brotherly countries, is pursuing a peace-oriented policy against this approach.

According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan highlighted that Trkiye has maintained peace, security, and stability amid regional turmoil, attributing this to the country's sound foreign policy under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He also discussed the cooperation among Organization of Turkic States (OTS) members, which is based on mutual trust and has led to progress in areas such as the economy, culture, and connectivity. Fidan warned of the unpredictable nature of the international system and the frequent disregard for international law, underscoring the importance of solidarity among Turkic states.

Fidan expressed concern over the potential regional spillover of the war, condemning attacks targeting countries like Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain. He criticized the use of attacks on neighboring countries as a pressure tactic and stressed the importance of dialogue over confrontation. The foreign minister also addressed a missile incident entering Trkiye's airspace, advising caution to prevent further provocations.

Fidan conveyed support for peace efforts between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the importance of stability in Afghanistan, particularly given rising tensions with Pakistan. He emphasized the need to end the isolation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the importance of enhancing energy security and regional cooperation.

Additionally, Fidan responded to allegations of US-organized Kurdish groups aiming to destabilize Iran, noting that Israel's intentions in using Kurdish groups as proxy forces are well-known. He warned against any scenario that might trigger a civil war in Iran, highlighting the potential humanitarian crisis and regional instability it could cause. Trkiye remains in contact with regional actors to prevent such an outcome and is actively seeking ways to maintain control over the situation.
