Trkiye’s BIST 100 Index Climbs 2.34% at Midweek Close

Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, concluded Wednesday's trading session at 14,458.98 points, marking a 2.34% increase from the previous day's close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index began the day at 14,103.63 and managed to rise by 331 points compared to Tuesday's closing figure. The index's lowest reading during the day was 14,071.55, while it reached a daily high of 14,485.88.

Throughout the trading day, 81 indexes saw gains in their value, whereas 17 ended with losses. The daily transaction volume amounted to 199.1 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $4.15 billion. The overall value of the index was estimated at 13.95 trillion liras, or approximately $291.77 billion.

As of 6.30 pm local time (1530GMT), the USD/TRY exchange rate was 47.9375. Meanwhile, the euro/lira exchange rate was 55.9320, and the British pound was trading at 65.2740. The price for an ounce of gold stood at $4,487.60, while Brent crude oil futures were priced at $92.12 per barrel.
