Ankara: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, opened Tuesday at 14,115.21 points, marking a slight decrease of 0.12% or 16.86 points from its previous close.
According to Anadolu Agency, the index had closed Monday at 14,132.06 points, experiencing a drop of 0.28% with a daily transaction volume reported at 166 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $3.46 billion. This persistent decline in the index reflects ongoing market fluctuations.
By 10.05 am local time (0705GMT), the exchange rates were recorded at 47.9200 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 55.5020 to the euro, and 64.8760 to the British pound, indicating the current strength of the Turkish lira against these major currencies.
Additionally, commodity prices were notable, with an ounce of gold priced at $4,399.50 and Brent crude futures trading at $91.23 per barrel, reflecting the global market trends influencing commodities.
