Ankara: Trkiye's communications chief Burhanettin Duran on Tuesday condemned Israel's actions in Gaza, describing them as systematic genocide and occupation, as the region marks the second anniversary of the attacks that have resulted in over 67,000 deaths.

According to Anadolu Agency, Duran expressed his views on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, stating that the situation is not only a tragedy for the Palestinian people but also a significant blemish on the international order, rule of law, and fundamental human values. He criticized the international community's silence, highlighting it as a failure of global justice mechanisms.

Duran pointed out that Tuesday marks two years since October 7, 2023, when Israel launched its attacks on Gaza. He characterized these events as part of an ongoing campaign of genocide, involving bombings, blockades, and systematic destruction that have claimed numerous civilian lives, including those of women and children. He emphasized that what is happening in Gaza should not be referred to as a 'conflict' but rather a deliberate, systematic genocide and occupation.

He further noted that Trkiye has consistently opposed these actions and has stood in solidarity with the oppressed. Under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Trkiye continues to maintain its stance on both diplomatic and humanitarian grounds, vowing to persist in this struggle until the voices of the Palestinians are heard and justice is served.

Duran also released a video titled 'Endless Genocide: Gaza,' which highlights the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.
