Trkiye’s International Reserves Reach Another Record High of $198.4B

Ankara: The Turkish Central Bank's official international reserves reached an all-time high of $198.4 billion as of Oct. 17, according to official figures released on Thursday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the total reserves surged 4.6%, or $8.7 billion, from the previous week's $189.7 billion, as reported by the bank. Foreign currency reserves, denominated in convertible foreign currencies, experienced a slight decrease of 0.1%, standing at $79.6 billion compared to the previous week.

In contrast, the bank's gold reserves, which include gold deposits and, if applicable, gold-swapped, saw an increase of 8.6%, reaching $111.2 billion during the same period. Additionally, the total IMF reserve position and special drawing rights rose by 0.2%, amounting to $7.7 billion.

The Turkish Central Bank's reserves have now hit a new record high for the fourth consecutive time. Over the last two months, the reserves have reached record highs on six occasions.
