Baku: US President Donald Trump highlighted ongoing peace in the South Caucasus region through phone conversations with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, reflecting on the success of the Washington Peace Summit.

According to Anadolu Agency, Pashinyan's office released a statement revealing the Armenian prime minister expressed gratitude to President Trump for orchestrating the peace summit held in Washington, DC on August 8, 2025. Pashinyan praised Trump's pivotal role in securing a joint declaration during the summit, which has been instrumental in fostering peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The statement from Pashinyan's office conveyed satisfaction from both leaders regarding the summit's outcomes, noting that the peace achieved is tangible and appreciated by citizens of both countries. Discussions between Pashinyan and Trump also covered the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, with both affirming their commitment to its initiation.

The call marked the one-year anniversary of the agreement signed by Aliyev and Pashinyan, alongside Trump, at the White House summit, aimed at resolving long-standing conflicts by ceasing hostilities and reopening transport routes.

In a subsequent call, Trump and Aliyev also expressed their satisfaction with the summit's success.
