Washington: President Donald Trump announced that the United States has conducted airstrikes targeting a senior planner of the ISIS (Daesh) terrorist group and other operatives in Somalia.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump stated on Saturday that he ordered precision military airstrikes on the senior ISIS attack planner and other terrorists who were recruited and led by the planner in Somalia. The target was reportedly hiding in a cave and had been posing a threat to the US and its allies.

The strikes resulted in the destruction of the caves where the terrorists were hiding and killed many of them, while avoiding harm to civilians, Trump claimed. He criticized the previous administration for not acting swiftly to neutralize the threat, asserting that the military had been targeting the ISIS attack planner for years.

Trump emphasized that the action sends a clear message to ISIS and any other groups intending to attack Americans: "WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU!"
