Washington: US President-elect Donald Trump announced Saturday that he nominated Charles Kushner, a prominent New Jersey businessman, to serve as ambassador to France. Kushner is the father of Jared Kushner, who is a son-in-law of Trump and served as a senior adviser during his presidency. According to Anadolu Agency, Trump expressed his enthusiasm for the nomination on his Truth Social platform, stating, "I am pleased to nominate Charles Kushner, of New Jersey, to serve as the US Ambassador to France." Trump highlighted Kushner's capabilities as a business leader, philanthropist, and dealmaker, noting that he will be a strong advocate representing the United States and its interests. Charles Kushner is the founder and chairman of Kushner Companies, a privately held real estate firm. His contributions have earned him recognition, including being named New Jersey Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young. Beyond business, Kushner has served in public service roles, such as on the US Holocaust Memorial Coun cil and as chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Trump underscored the longstanding connections between the Kushner family and his administration. He noted Jared Kushner's contributions in the White House, particularly on initiatives like Operation Warp Speed, criminal justice reform, and the Abraham Accords, which facilitated normalization agreements between several Arab nations and Israel. "Together, we will strengthen America's partnership with France, our oldest Ally, and one of our greatest!" Trump stated, emphasizing the significance of the US-France relationship. He also extended congratulations to Kushner's family, including his wife Seryl, their four children, and 14 grandchildren.
