Trump Suggests Legal Actions Against Clintons and Obama Still Possible

Washington:US President Donald Trump stated that he could still initiate criminal investigations against former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and former President Barack Obama. Trump claimed he possesses 'a lot of information' regarding the trio, as reported by The Hill.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, Trump, during an interview with Newsmax host Rob Finnerty, mentioned that although he had previously avoided targeting the three, he might still take action. He expressed that he could have pursued legal action against Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama, noting that he could "do big numbers" if he chose to. Trump did not provide specifics on his claims and suggested he was unlikely to pursue the matter, as it might lead to another impeachment attempt against him.

The discussion arises amidst ongoing criticism of Trump's administration for its criminal investigations and prosecutions involving political adversaries. Notably, the Justice Department has filed charges against New York Attorney General Letitia James and twice indicted former FBI Director James Comey, although one indictment was dismissed due to the illegal appointment of the prosecutor.

Furthermore, prosecutors attempted to indict six Democratic lawmakers over a video urging military personnel to disregard illegal orders, but these charges were not upheld by a grand jury. Investigations have also included Democratic Senator Adam Schiff, former Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, and Fed Governor Lisa Cook, with the Supreme Court blocking Trump's attempt to remove Cook from office.

In a separate case, former Trump national security adviser John Bolton pleaded guilty in June to charges related to the illegal retention of sensitive documents, marking a notable conviction from the Justice Department during Trump's tenure.
