Ondo:Turkey has expressed its deep sorrow over a military helicopter crash in Nigeria's Ondo state.
According to Anadolu Agency, Turkey's Foreign Ministry issued a statement conveying condolences to those who lost their relatives in the accident and to the people of Nigeria.
The incident involved a military helicopter that crashed in the southwestern state of Ondo. Jimoh Abayomi, the public relations officer for the state police, confirmed the crash and stated that an investigation is underway with security forces deployed to the site.
Nigerian Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo reported that the helicopter went down near the Igbokoda Naval Base. On board were 25 passengers and seven crew members. While the wreckage has been located, search and rescue operations are still in progress. However, Keyamo did not provide details regarding casualties or injuries.
