Istanbul: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar in Istanbul on Sunday to discuss a range of issues of regional and international importance. The meeting highlighted the strengthening ties between the two nations as they continue to collaborate on various fronts.

According to Anadolu Agency, the discussions took place at the Turkish Foreign Ministry's Istanbul office. Although the ministry did not disclose specific details of the meeting, it released several photos, indicating a cordial atmosphere between the two officials.

Pakistan's Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing satisfaction with the ongoing enhancement of bilateral relations in political, economic, security, and cultural areas. The statement also noted the progress achieved under the Pakistan-Trkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), with both foreign ministers agreeing on the urgent need to convene the next HLSCC session.

During the meeting, the ministers exchanged views on regional and international issues, reaffirming their commitment to working closely for regional peace and stability. This commitment comes ahead of the first political and defense committee meeting involving officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Trkiye under the Mecca defense pact, which is scheduled to take place in Istanbul on Monday.
