Istanbul: Trkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan engaged in a telephone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar to discuss the recent two-week temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran, alongside the upcoming talks scheduled to occur in Islamabad later this week.
According to Anadolu Agency, diplomatic sources from Turkey have confirmed that the discussions between the two ministers were conducted over the phone. This dialogue comes in the wake of the announcement made by Iran and the US regarding a temporary ceasefire on Tuesday. The ceasefire aims to facilitate a final agreement to end hostilities that have resulted in numerous casualties and injuries since the conflict began on February 28.
The first round of formal negotiations is anticipated to take place in Islamabad on Saturday, marking a significant step towards achieving a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
