Turkish Benchmark Stock Index Closes Slightly Higher

Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 10,438.33 points, marking an increase of 0.15% from its previous close. The BIST 100 index, having started the day at 10,421.64, gained 16.09 points from Monday's close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the index experienced fluctuations throughout the day, with the lowest point recorded at 10,357.09 and a daily high reaching 10,522.14. Out of the total indexes, 55 gained value, whereas 43 witnessed declines by the end of the trading session.

The day's total transaction volume amounted to 130 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $3.55 billion. The overall value of the index was calculated at 9.25 trillion liras, or $253.8 billion. In the currency market, the exchange rate for USD/TRY was 36.5820 as of 7 p.m. local time (1600GMT), while EUR/TRY stood at 39.9985 and GBP/TRY traded at 47.3590.

In related financial markets, the price of gold was noted at $2,916.60 per ounce, and the barrel price of Brent oil was $69.80.
