BISHKEK: Turkiye's Yunus Emre Institute has inaugurated a new cultural center in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, coinciding with the 11th Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The ceremony saw attendance from notable figures such as Turkish Culture Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Abdurrahman Aliy, head of the Yunus Emre Institute. According to Anadolu Agency, the newly opened center is set to play a pivotal role in promoting Turkish culture and strengthening the cultural ties between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. The facility is envisioned as a 'meeting point' where the Turkish language, culture, and art will be showcased through a variety of events and programs. Abdurrahman Aliy highlighted that the Yunus Emre Institute, since its establishment, has expanded to more than 90 offices in over 60 countries. Minister Ersoy emphasized Turkey's commitment to investing in educational initiatives in Kyrgyzstan, underscoring the belief that Kyrgyzstan's youth are integral to the future of the Turkic world. The OTS, founded in 2009, comprises full member states including Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, with Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as observers. The organization focuses on enhancing trade, political, cultural, and security cooperation among Turkic-speaking nations.
