Karachi: Turkish modular building company Karmod has completed the installation of container office buildings at the Karachi shipyard for use in the National Ship Project (MILGEM) in Pakistan. Yavuz Genc, general manager of Karmod, highlighted the company's global standing as a leading manufacturer of modular container construction and office buildings.

According to Anadolu Agency, the MILGEM project, initiated in 2004 by Trkiye, aims to fulfill the country's military ship requirements and extends its services to Pakistan through established agreements. Genc expressed the company's enthusiasm in contributing to the defense sector, particularly with the simultaneous production of corvettes and ships at both Istanbul and Karachi shipyards under the Pakistan MILGEM Project framework.

Genc elaborated that the container structures were set up in two distinct areas at the Karachi shipyard. Karmod shipped these container offices, crafted with fully demountable features at their Tuzla factory in Trkiye, to Karachi. He stated that the firm had organized the office installations in two sections of the shipyard, with oversight by supervisory teams.

"Our 42-square-meter offices will be utilized by the technical team responsible for developing the Karinaya-mounted sonar unit for the Pakistan MILGEM project," Genc mentioned. Additionally, he noted that the company provided all interior essentials for the offices, including furniture such as desks, chairs, and sofas, as well as air conditioning.
