Turkish Foreign Minister Asserts 2016 Failed Coup Demonstrates Unyielding National Will

Sanaa: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized that the failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016, demonstrated Trkiye's unwavering national will against any form of tutelary forces or terrorist organizations. In his address commemorating Democracy and National Unity Day, Fidan highlighted the resilience of the Turkish nation in not succumbing to the coup attempt orchestrated by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO).

According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan credited the thwarting of the coup to the decisive leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the courage of the Turkish populace, and the steadfast resolve of the state. He underscored the defeat of those who believed military might could silence the Turkish people, emphasizing the spirit of unity displayed by millions who took to the streets that night.

Fidan reiterated Trkiye's ongoing commitment to combating threats to its security and independence, both domestically and internationally. He vowed never to allow FETO to find sanctuary in any country or institution. Commemorating those who lost their lives during the attempt, Fidan expressed gratitude to the veterans and wished the nation a meaningful Democracy and National Unity Day.

Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus described the failed coup as a lasting emblem of national resistance, reflecting the commitment of those who stood against the plotters. Trade Minister Omer Bolat echoed the sentiment, linking the victory to Trkiye's pursuit of economic independence through enhanced production and exportation.

Education Minister Yusuf Tekin highlighted the legacy of the event as a call to building a society resilient against future threats. Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar noted that the spirit of resistance continues to fuel Trkiye's quest for energy independence.

The Turkish Defense Ministry, via NSosyal, commemorated the day by honoring the martyrs and veterans, affirming the continuity of national unity. Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas labeled the event as an "epic of heroism," underscoring the nation's recognition of no power above the national will.

Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci praised the unity and courage displayed by the nation, marking the 10th anniversary with a commitment to continue the fight against FETO. Justice Minister Akin Gurlek emphasized the ongoing efforts to strengthen national unity under Erdogan's leadership.

Other ministers, including those of Agriculture, Transport, Labor, Health, Industry, Culture, and Youth, reiterated similar sentiments, marking the anniversary as a testament to the nation's resolve and the enduring legacy of the events of July 15.
