Ankara: Trkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi on Monday spoke over the phone and discussed the situation in Syria and developments in Gaza, according to Turkish diplomatic sources. The conversation also touched upon bilateral relations and other regional issues, marking another step in the ongoing diplomatic dialogue between the two nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, the recent discussions follow a visit by Safadi to Ankara on January 6, where he participated in a joint news conference with Fidan. During this meeting, Safadi emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation and coordination between Trkiye and Jordan to tackle regional challenges, particularly focusing on Syria's reconstruction and the broader stability of the Middle East.

Furthermore, Safadi reiterated Jordan's stance on supporting the Palestinian people's aspirations to establish an independent state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This reaffirmation highlights Jordan's continued commitment to advocating for Palestinian rights within the region.
