Turkish President Erdogan Arrives in Qatar to Offer Condolences Over Former Emir’s Death

Doha: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in the Qatari capital Doha to offer condolences following the death of former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Erdogan's visit underscores the strong ties between Turkey and Qatar, as he seeks to personally express his sympathies to the grieving nation.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan landed at Hamad International Airport aboard the presidential aircraft TUR. His arrival was marked by a formal welcome from Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani. The presence of such high-ranking officials highlights the significance of Erdogan's visit during this period of mourning.

First Lady Emine Erdogan is accompanying the president during this visit, reflecting the importance of the occasion. Erdogan is expected to meet with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to convey his condolences over the loss of his father, emphasizing the close diplomatic relations and personal bond between the leaders of the two nations.
