Turkish President Erdogan welcomes Kuwait’s emir in Ankara

ISTANBUL: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday welcomed Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah with an official ceremony at the Presidential Complex in the capital Ankara. Earlier on Tuesday, Erdogan welcomed the emir at the Esenboga Airport in Ankara. The country's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, and other officials were present at the ceremony. The visit, which coincides with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations, marks the first visit at the level of emir from Kuwait to Trkiye after a gap of seven years. Emir's visit to Trkiye is his first official trip outside of the Arab world. After bilateral and inter-delegation meetings, ceremonies for state order awards and agreement signings will follow.
