Turkistan: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the necessity for the Turkic world to demonstrate solidarity in light of ongoing regional crises and the push for digital transformation. Speaking at the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Turkistan, Kazakhstan, Erdogan highlighted the strategic importance of unity among Turkic nations.
According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan pointed out the pressing issues in regions such as Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, and Ukraine, underscoring the need for enhanced defense capabilities and industrial cooperation within the Turkic world. He stated that Turkey intends to prioritize cybersecurity cooperation within the OTS, recognizing its significance alongside traditional security domains like land, air, and maritime.
Erdogan also conveyed his aspirations for the Turkic world to bolster its political, economic, and cultural ties with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). He stressed the importance of cultural and digital collaboration, advocating for the widespread adoption of a common Turkic alphabet in education, culture, and academic exchanges, as well as during the ongoing digital transformation.
Additionally, he underscored the need for supporting AI-based projects, including the development of a Turkish language model. This initiative aims to highlight the richness of the shared language in the digital landscape, further strengthening the cultural bonds within the Turkic world.
