Turkish President Warns of Economic Impact Due to Attacks on Iran

Edirne: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the region is currently bearing a 'heavy economic price' as a result of attacks on Iran, even before the resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Speaking at the reopening ceremony of the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne, Erdogan highlighted the ongoing crises that are impacting the region and the world at large.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan emphasized that the world is experiencing one of its most critical periods since World War II, with successive crises emerging before previous ones are resolved. He described the current situation as one where the "sounds of missiles and bombs drown out the cries of children," expressing uncertainty about future developments and potential conflicts.

Erdogan also condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza and Lebanon, accusing what he referred to as "Zionist killers" of continuing bloodshed by violating laws and principles. He further mentioned the persistent issues in the Black Sea and the emergence of new geopolitical challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The Turkish President reiterated Trkiye's commitment to distancing itself from regional instability while focusing on development and service politics. He spoke about Trkiye's efforts in creating a 'terror-free Trkiye,' aiming to resolve long-standing issues related to terrorism permanently.

Erdogan concluded by underlining Trkiye's dedication to the peace and security of its population, citing the goal of building what he termed the "Century of Trkiye" as their ultimate objective.
