Washington: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan remains committed to security stabilization and recovery in the Gaza Strip, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Thursday. Fidan made these remarks at the inaugural Board of Peace meeting, which convened in Washington under the chairmanship of US President Donald Trump.

According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan emphasized the importance of addressing the humanitarian challenges in Gaza, despite the achievement of a ceasefire after two years of human suffering. He credited President Trump’s personal engagement and collective efforts for this development but acknowledged that the humanitarian situation remains delicate, with ongoing ceasefire violations necessitating an immediate and coordinated response.

Fidan reiterated President Erdogan’s dedication to Gaza’s stabilization and recovery, highlighting Turkey’s significant humanitarian assistance to the region. He outlined Turkey’s potential contributions, including the rehabilitation of health and education sectors, police force training, and readiness to provide troops for the International Stabilization Force.

Turkey’s support for President Trump’s efforts towards a just and lasting peace was affirmed by Fidan, who expressed conviction that a two-state solution is fundamental to achieving peace in the region. He called for collaborative efforts to realize this objective for the benefit of all regional populations.
