Turkish Stock Exchange Closes Thursday Down

Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 9,810.94 points, marking a decline of 0.50% from its previous close. The BIST 100 index started the day at 9,839.83 points and experienced a downward movement of 49.35 points from Wednesday's close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the index reached its lowest point at 9,660.61 during the day, while the highest point was recorded at 10,156.71. Out of the total indexes, 57 gained in value, whereas 40 ended the day with losses.

The total transaction volume hit an all-time high of 228.1 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $6 billion. The overall value of the index stood at 8.78 trillion liras, approximately $231.1 billion.

Currency exchange rates as of 6.45 pm local time showed the USD/TRY at 37.8560, the EUR/TRY at 41.1700, and the GBP/TRY trading at 49.0230. Additionally, the price of gold was $3,040.10 per ounce, and Brent oil was priced at $71.65 per barrel.
