Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index started the week on an upward trend as it opened Monday at 9,962.07 points, marking a slight increase of 0.1% or 10.41 points from the previous close.
According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index had previously closed on Friday with a rise of 1.11%, reaching 9,951.65 points. The day's transactions amounted to a volume of 103 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $2.86 billion.
By 10.10 a.m. local time (0710GMT), currency exchange rates were recorded at 36.0275 liras to the US dollar, 37.2260 to the euro, and 44.7185 to the British pound. In the commodities market, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $2,887.70, while Brent crude oil was trading at $75 per barrel.
