Istanbul: Turkish technopark Bilisim Vadisi Technology Development Zone will organize incubation programs in Europe starting with a 'hackathon' in Greece, CEO Erkam Tuzgen told Anadolu Monday. A hackathon is an event for programmers and developers to collaborate, solve problems, and compete in projects.

According to Anadolu Agency, Tuzgen said the technopark organized a six-month incubation program in Azerbaijan and they will now expand to Eastern Europe. "The number of companies operating within our structure is over 700, with domestic and international investments, and we hosted over 6,000 students in our events last year," he stated. Founded in 2019, Bilisim Vadisi has campuses in Istanbul, Izmir on the Turkish Aegean, and Azerbaijan's capital Baku.

Tuzgen further explained that they will establish an incubation center in Istanbul, the nation's commercial capital, for entrepreneurs and developers in Trkiye and from all over the world. The technopark has been undertaking various activities to train Trkiye's human resources in technology, including 42 Trkiye, an education project for computer science.

He also mentioned that more than 120 teams from Trkiye applied for the hackathon to be held in Greece this year, with the first part of the event taking place in Trkiye. The final part of the hackathon and the award ceremony will occur in Greece.
