Ankara: Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will attend a virtual meeting of the "coalition of the willing" group on behalf of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday, sources said. The meeting is set to be chaired by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and will focus on the outcomes of recent discussions held at the White House regarding the situation in Ukraine.
According to Anadolu Agency, the White House meeting on Monday gathered key international figures, including US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and various European leaders. This initiative, spearheaded by the UK and France, aims to deploy peacekeeping troops from multiple European and NATO countries to Ukraine in the post-war period.
President Trump announced on Monday that the leaders had deliberated over security guarantees for Ukraine. His administration has also initiated preparations for a potential meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Zelenskyy, followed by a trilateral summit that would include Trump. The recent discussions in Washington were preceded by a summit between Trump and Putin in Alaska, which was focused on finding a resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
