Al-kharj: Two drones were intercepted and destroyed early Friday in Saudi Arabia's Al-Kharj Governorate, the country's Defense Ministry announced on US social media company X. The interception highlights ongoing regional tensions and the effectiveness of Saudi defense mechanisms in countering unmanned aerial threats.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Defense Ministry had earlier reported the interception of four drones in the kingdom's eastern and central regions, increasing the total number of intercepted drones to 42. This surge in drone activity is linked to recent geopolitical tensions in the region.

The developments occurred following US and Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,300 individuals, including several top officials. In response, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, escalating the situation further.
