Two new flights from Beirut carrying Australians to Larnaca on Sunday

Two flights, one before noon and the other in the afternoon carrying Australian citizens from Beirut, were to arrive Sunday at Larnaca airport. According to information CNA obtained, a flight to Australia was to depart at around 15.00, to transport citizens of the country who arrived in Cyprus on Saturday on two chartered flights. On Saturday, 229 Australian citizens arrived at Larnaca airport from Beirut in the morning and another 179 arrived in the afternoon. In a post on 'X', Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said that in addition to the two flights that arrived in Cyprus on Saturday from Lebanon, carrying a total of 407 Australians and their family members, two more flights were scheduled for Sunday, which are fully booked. She urged Australians not to travel to Beirut airport unless they have secured a seat, noting that more flights would follow in the coming days, subject to demand and the security situation. Moreover, on Saturday, a small Slovak military aircraft managed to evacuate around 1 00 people from Lebanon, who left for their country in the evening, on three flights. Meanwhile, the flights of mainly Israeli airlines continue Sunday, between Tel Aviv and Larnaca, carrying Israeli citizens who are leaving the country due to the situation in the Middle East. Sources within Hermes Airports told CNA that, on Sunday, 12 flight arrivals were scheduled at Larnaca Airport from Tel Aviv as well as 12 departures to Israel, mainly from Israeli airlines.
