UAE Air Defenses Intercept 27 Drones, Seven Missiles from Iran

Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) said on Friday that its air forces engaged a new wave of Iranian attacks, including 27 drones and seven ballistic missiles. This announcement marks another significant development in the ongoing hostilities in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, this brings the total to 1,567 Iranian drones and 285 ballistic missiles intercepted by the UAE Defense Ministry, as shared on the US social media company X. The air forces have also intercepted 15 Iranian cruise missiles since the attacks began, the ministry added.

The escalation follows joint attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran, launched on February 28, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,300 people, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has carried out drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
