Dubai: The United Arab Emirates announced that the loud sounds heard in Dubai were the result of aerial interception operations, occurring amidst rising regional tensions.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Dubai Media Office released a statement explaining that the noises were due to ‘successful aerial interceptions.’ The statement did not provide details concerning any casualties or damage resulting from the operations.
The regional tension has intensified since February 28, following a joint attack by Israel and the United States against Iran. This attack reportedly resulted in over 1,200 fatalities and left another 10,000 injured, as per Iranian authorities. In response, Tehran has executed drone and missile strikes against targets in Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and several Gulf countries hosting US military installations.
