Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates announced that Iranian attacks have resulted in the deaths of two military personnel and six civilians, with 158 others wounded, since the outbreak of the US-Iran war late last month.

According to Anadolu Agency, the UAE's Defense Ministry revealed that air defenses successfully intercepted 13 ballistic missiles and 27 drones originating from Iran on Wednesday. The ministry's statement further detailed that since the onset of Iranian attacks on February 28, the nation's air defense systems have managed 327 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,699 drones.

The ongoing conflict began on February 28, when the US and Israel initiated a joint offensive against Iran, resulting in approximately 1,300 fatalities, including the former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. These retaliatory strikes have caused casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
