The President of the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK, Christos Karaolis, congratulated on Friday Keir Starmer and the Labour Party on their victory at the recent election in the United Kingdom. In his message, Karaolis expresses his eagerness to work closely with Starmer, as the incoming Prime Minister, and his new Government 'to continue the longstanding and productive working relationships that we formed with the former Shadow Ministerial team, whilst they were in Opposition'. 'We also look forward to working closely with all newly elected and re-elected Parliamentarians. As we work with new Government and Parliamentarians, we will always engage constructively to advance our UK Cypriot diaspora, strengthen UK-Cyprus relations and to deliver a free and united Cyprus', he added in that regard. He also thanked outgoing Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, as well as friends across the Conservative Party who were not re-elected, for their support over the last 14 years in Government.
