Kyiv: Ukraine on Tuesday reported a significant attack by Russia involving drones and missiles, resulting in at least three casualties.

According to Anadolu Agency, Mykola Kalashnik, the governor of the Kyiv region, announced on Telegram that a fire broke out in a private two-story house in the Vyshhorod district due to the attack, leading to the death of a woman born in 1949. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported that at least five people were injured, specifically impacting the city's Sviatoshynskyi district.

Additionally, individual fatalities were reported in Khmelnytskyi and Zhytomyr, as confirmed by the governors of those regions. Ukraine's State Emergency Service also noted that energy, port, and transport infrastructure in the southwestern Odesa region were targeted.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on US social media company X that over 650 drones and more than 30 missiles were deployed by Russia. He emphasized that air raid alerts continue across most of Ukraine, with at least 13 regions experiencing attacks. Zelenskyy criticized Russia's actions as contrary to ending the Ukraine conflict and urged the international community to increase pressure on Russia to move towards peace and security.

Acting Energy Minister Artem Nekrasov indicated that the airstrikes resulted in reduced generation capacity at nuclear power plants. Ukraine's Air Force reported on Telegram that air defenses successfully intercepted 587 out of 635 drones and 34 out of 38 missiles launched by Russia.

In response to the airstrikes, the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command dispatched fighter jets but confirmed no breach of Poland's airspace. The Russian Defense Ministry later acknowledged targeting Ukraine's military-industrial complex and associated energy facilities.
