Gaza: Around 500,000 Palestinians have been displaced in Gaza as Israel has resumed its offensive following the breakdown of a ceasefire with Hamas, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The renewed assault by the Israeli army began on March 18, disrupting a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place since January 19. According to Anadolu Agency, the ongoing conflict has resulted in nearly 51,000 Palestinian deaths since October 2023, with the majority being women and children. The resumption of hostilities has intensified the humanitarian crisis in the region, leading to widespread displacement and loss of life. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Furthermore, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its actions in t he enclave. The situation in Gaza remains dire as the international community calls for renewed efforts to halt the violence and address the humanitarian needs of the displaced population.
