Tel aviv: The administration of President Donald Trump has not yet decided on launching a military attack against Iran, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee stated. In an interview aired on Israeli Channel 12, Huckabee mentioned that the decision remains pending.
According to Anadolu Agency, Huckabee emphasized that President Trump aims for a peaceful resolution with Tehran. He noted Trump's reputation for deal-making and expressed hope for a favorable outcome. However, he also highlighted Trump's readiness to act decisively, referencing the "Midnight Hammer" operation from the previous summer. This involved a 12-day conflict initiated by Israel with US support, leading to retaliatory actions from Iran before a ceasefire was declared.
Huckabee reiterated Trump's commitment to his promises, urging the Iranian people to heed Trump's words, suggesting that the US president is consistent in keeping his commitments. He addressed rumors regarding a potential US attack on January 14, acknowledging the proximity to such a decision while emphasizing the importance of careful consideration of outcomes.
The ambassador admitted uncertainty about the timeline for any potential US action or whether Iran might instigate conflict with Israel. He advised Israelis to maintain their daily routines but be prepared to respond if necessary.
In a recent social media post, Trump announced the deployment of a massive "armada" toward Iran, encouraging immediate negotiations. This announcement has intensified speculation about a possible US military strike, eliciting strong reactions from Iranian officials and prompting significant diplomatic efforts in the region.
