Tel aviv: US Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, arrived in Israel from Jordan on Monday for discussions with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog. This visit comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen US-Israel relations and address regional security concerns.

According to Anadolu Agency, the US Mission to the UN highlighted that Waltz's visit to Jordan and Israel emphasizes the United States' dedication to promoting regional stability. The talks are expected to focus on implementing President Donald Trump's 20-Point Plan for Gaza and supporting the goals outlined in United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, which aims to chart a path forward for the region.

Resolution 2803 calls for the creation of a Board of Peace, an International Stabilization Force, and an administrative committee in the Gaza enclave. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to end longstanding conflicts and foster a peaceful future in the Middle East.

The trip also follows a recent ceasefire agreement in Gaza under Trump's plan, which took effect on October 10. The ceasefire halted two years of Israeli attacks, which had resulted in more than 70,000 deaths, predominantly affecting women and children, and injuries to nearly 171,000 others since October 2023.
