Paris: A US delegation, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Presidential Envoy Keith Kellogg, and Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff, met with top Ukrainian officials in Paris to discuss ways to end the Russia-Ukraine war, officials said Thursday. The discussions were aimed at exploring strategies to halt the ongoing conflict between the two nations.
According to Anadolu Agency, Kellogg reported having ‘very productive meetings’ with Ukrainian Presidential Office head Andriy Yermak and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov at the Elysee Palace. The dialogues centered on efforts to bring an end to the hostilities that have persisted since the onset of the war.
Rubio stated that the delegation arrived in Paris with a clear objective: ‘Secure real, practical solutions to end the Russia-Ukraine war.’ He highlighted that this mission is in line with US President Donald Trump’s goal to ‘end this war and stop the unnecessary bloodshed,’ underscoring the United States’ commitment to finding a peaceful resolution.
These talks are part of broader US initiatives to advocate for an unconditional ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. Additionally, the US is working collaboratively with its allies to develop a long-term security framework for Ukraine, aiming to ensure stability and peace in the region.
